Roasts
There are roasts of varying, more sophisticated names, but those names tend to vary from one part of the country to the next; or they vary with the background of the customer. Our Roastmaster has a set of color tiles that will help him communicate with you the proper roast, in the event you feel one of the descriptions below is an incomplete representation.
• Light: A distinct light brown, maybe on some beans a slight hint of yellow,
not greenish; no glaze; definite dry look.
• Medium: A solid brown bean, surface remains dry.
• Full City: A rich dark brown bean that develops a slight sheen as the coffee oils are
forced to the surface.
• Vienna: A slightly darker bean starting to show some oily drops on the surface.
• Italian: A rich dark almost black bean with a slight gloss or oily look.
• French: Definitely black and very oily looking.
